Dengue Fever lurks during the Corona Outbreak, Situbondo Starts Fogging

SURYA.CO.ID, SITUBONDO – Focusing on handling and tackling Covid-19 in the regions, it must not weaken the anticipation of other diseases. The ranks of the TNI and Polri in Situbondo began to intensify fogging or fogging after the discovery of cases of transmission of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) experienced by local residents.

Tuesday (8/6/2021), the fogging was carried out by deploying members of the TNI-Polri together with Kendit Health Center officers, in the Tambak Ukir Village, Kendit District. In that village, there was a resident who contracted DHF from the bite of the Aides Aegipty mosquito.

Previously, the Babinsa of Tambak Ukir Village, Sertu Mulyono, received a report from the community if there were residents who were infected with DHF. Next, Sergeant Mulyono coordinated with Bati Bakti TNI, Serma Akhmad Fadli and followed up at the Kendit Health Center.

Thanks to good and fast coordination, the joint TNI-Polri team and Kendit Health Center officers carried out fogging to prevent the spread of DHF.

Mulyono said, in addition to fogging, his party also provides socialization to the community so that they always maintain a clean environment. “If there are used cans, they should be buried, don’t let them fill with water, which can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes,” said Mulyono

In addition, Mulyono continued, his party also asked the public to be diligent in draining the water in the bath, so that mosquito larvae could not breed. “I hope that people will continue to maintain cleanliness and must also comply with health protocols because Covid-19 still exists,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Situbondo Health Office, Dwi Herman Susilo, said that since the last month there have been five cases of dengue fever. “Of the five cases, no one died, all of them returned to health after being treated by medical personnel,” said Dwi. ****
