A decrease in the estimated number of clinically suggestive cases of dengue seen in city medicine has been observed for two weeks, indicates the latest epidemiological bulletin. There are an average of one hundred clinical cases recorded per week, compared to nearly 160 cases estimated on average per week during the months of May and June. These values, although above the seasonal threshold, are 2 to 3 times lower than those observed during the peak. Since the start of the epidemic (October), 9,230 clinically suggestive cases of dengue fever have been estimated in general practice.

In the past four weeks, almost 500 clinically suggestive cases of dengue have seen a general practitioner. The commune where the cumulative incidence is the highest with between 40 and 100 cases estimated per 10,000 inhabitants, is Vieux-Habitants (72 cases per 10,000 inhabitants), followed by the commune of Saint-François (39 cases per 10,000 inhabitants). Eleven of the 32 municipalities in the archipelago report no clinically suggestive case of dengue.

The vector control service has identified three new epidemic foci in the municipalities of Deshaies (Caféière), Vieux-Fort (route de Matouba), Sainte-Rose (Desbonnes) in addition to the existing foci: Bouillante (Poirier and Birloton) , Gosier (Bellevue), Pointe à Pitre (Bas du Fort), Petit-Bourg (La Grippière).

Since the start of the epidemic, 391 emergency room visits have been identified, of which 85 (21.7%) required hospitalization.
