The season transition period from dry to rainy or known as transition. This transition season is expected to take place from the end of October to the beginning of November. All Indonesian citizens are advised to be aware of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever or also known as (DHF). This is due to reduced rainfall in the dry season which causes places where there are stagnant water such as cans, used tires and plastic drinking glasses to become breeding locations for mosquitoes. Temples of the Egyptians namely the cause of dengue fever.

Data from the Bali Province Health Service (Dinkes), the number of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in the period January-October 2023 is Denpasar 1,318 cases, Badung 1,071 cases, Gianyar 959 cases, Buleleng Regency 747 cases, Klungkung 627 cases, Tabanan 595 cases, Karangasem 449 cases, Jembrana 440 cases, and Bangli 221 cases. The total number of dengue fever cases in Bali is 6,427 cases.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus. DHF is mediated by mosquitoes which we know as Aedes. The spread of dengue fever is influenced by many factors, one of which is climate. The influence of rainfall on the incidence of dengue fever cases is complex, this is because rainfall affects vector growth, namely mosquito density.

Another factor that causes dengue fever is having a weak immune system. One study shows that immune system influences the body’s response to dengue virus infection. A strong immune system will only cause mild symptoms when someone has dengue fever. Meanwhile, if a person has a weak immune system, dengue virus infection can cause dengue fever with severe symptoms, such as blood vessel leaks and severe inflammation, especially in those who have comorbidities.

Apart from having a weak immune system, the habit of hanging clothes in the room is one of the factors causing dengue fever. This is because after biting humans, female Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes like to rest in dark places, such as between hanging clothes. Therefore, avoid hanging clothes in the room and clean the room and house regularly so that it does not become a place for mosquitoes to breed.

Symptoms of dengue fever are generally characterized by a high fever of up to 39oC. Conditions with high fever will last for 2-7 days, after which there will be a drastic decline, headaches, nausea and vomiting, pain behind the eyes, bones and muscles, a rash appears on the skin or reddish spots on the skin, sore throat. accompanied by difficulty swallowing and drinking, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, black or dark stools, and vomiting blood. If you experience this, immediately take it to the nearest hospital or health service facility for follow-up or further treatment.

Initial aid for dengue sufferers according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health is to recommend bed rest, drink lots of water at least 2 liters per day, warm compresses, give fever-reducing medication.

Apart from that, the most effective and efficient prevention of dengue fever to date is the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN) using the method we know as 3M (Draining, Covering, Recycling Used Goods).
