Jepara: Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in Jepara, Central Java are increasingly worrying. In two months, 500 people were infected and 12 of them died. The Jepara Regency Government, starting Wednesday, February 28, declared a dengue fever emergency.
The number of dengue fever patients in Jepara Regency is increasingly worrying. The number continues to fall, with hundreds of patients, most of whom are children, being treated in several hospitals both in their own area and outside the area in the last two months.
“Currently Jepara has emergency response status for dengue fever,” said Daily Executive (Plh) Head of the Jepara District Health Service Eko Cahyo Puspeno in Jepara, Wednesday, February 28 2024.
The emergency declaration for dengue fever in Jepara is because the number of dengue fever cases continues to increase every day and has reached more than 500 sufferers. In fact, the number of deaths has also increased until now it has reached 12 people.
“The hospital rooms in Jepara are also almost full,” he added.
Treatment rooms in all health centers in Jepara are also full of dengue fever patients. Meanwhile, based on data, most inpatients and outpatients are children, so they need joint attention and steps to overcome them.
In dealing with attacks caused by Aedes aegypti mosquito bites, according to Eko, the Jepara District Health Office has coordinated with all parties, even involving community health centers, sub-districts and villages to prevent the spread of dengue fever, starting from outreach and movements to eradicate mosquito larvae.
“The 3M plus movement, namely draining water reservoirs, closing water reservoirs, burying water reservoirs that are not functioning and preventing mosquito bites and breeding, is carried out once a week,” said Eko.
Apart from that, the Health Service has also carried out and will carry out fogging. Fogging is carried out according to certain criteria by deploying an epidemiological investigation team, tracking the number of infected residents and the larvae-free rate in each environment.
