Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) victims who died in Jombang have increased again. Most recently, a 7 year old girl died while being treated at Jombang Regional Hospital. A total of 6 people have died from dengue fever this month in Jombang.
Director of Jombang Regional Hospital, Dr Ma’murotus Sa’diyah, explained that the girl from Tembelang District arrived on Wednesday (28/2) at around 13.20 WIB. The patient was referred by a doctor from RSI Jombang.
“The DSS (Dengue Shock Syndrome) condition was immediately entered into the pediatric ICU,” he explained to journalists, Thursday (29/2/2024).

In less than 24 hours in the children’s ICU at Jombang Regional Hospital, continued Dr. Sa’diyah, the 7 year old boy died. To be precise, this morning at around 04.45 WIB.
“We have confirmed with the doctor who treated him that the patient indeed died of dengue fever,” he explained.
In this way, the number of dengue fever patients who died at the Jombang District Hospital throughout February 2024 became 6 people. Consisting of 5 pediatric patients and 1 adult patient.
Throughout this month, Jombang Regional Hospital treated 182 patients with dengue virus infection (IVD). Consisting of 138 pediatric patients and 44 adults. To date, there are 36 dengue fever patients undergoing treatment at this state-owned hospital. Of that number, 3 patients were treated in the ICU.
Dr Sa’diyah appealed to the public to always adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle. One of them is by eating and drinking more, as well as getting enough rest to increase the body’s immunity.
“Symptoms of dengue fever have changed. Usually after the sixth day it is safe, now it is not, the seventh day is cold, but still critical, people must be alert,” he said.
