Dengue Fever Cases in Taiwan Reach Highest Weekly Total Since Outbreak

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced today that from August 8th to 14th, 469 new local cases of dengue fever were newly diagnosed, and one severe case was added. According to the CDC, the local dengue fever epidemic in China continues to heat up. Last week, Taipei City, Hsinchu City, and Changhua County reported their first local dengue fever cases this year. Up to now, 11 counties and cities across the country have reported local cases of dengue fever. The dengue fever epidemic in neighboring Southeast Asia/South Asia is on the rise. Among them, Cambodia has continued to rise recently, Thailand is at a high point, and is higher than the same period in recent years, and Laos is also at a high point but lower than the same period last year.
