SuaraMalang.id – In addition to the Covid-19 outbreak, people in Indonesia are now also faced with threats dengue fever dengue (DHF). Especially before the peak of the rainy season like now.
Of Banyuwangi for example. Throughout February 2022, as many as 25 people have been reported to have contracted the virus carried by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Of that number, one person died.
As explained by the Acting Head of the Banyuwangi Health Service, Amir Hidayat. He said dengue cases were found almost evenly in all regions. But the most dominating is in the sub-district of the city.
“The findings are almost evenly distributed in all sub-districts in Banyuwangi, but the most dominating one is in the city. Meanwhile, the most vulnerable ages are children to teenagers,” said Amir, as quoted from suarajatimpost.com Suara.com media network, Saturday (29/1/2022).

Amir said the increase in dengue cases was due to the large pool of water during the rainy season. This makes it easier for the Aedes aegypti mosquito to breed.
“In the city there are a lot of puddles such as water reservoirs which incidentally do not come into contact with the ground. Puddles that do not touch the ground are very conducive for mosquito breeding,” he said.
The Health Office, said Amir, has issued circulars to sub-districts, villages and sub-districts. The letter contains an appeal to return to preventive measures.
The preventive measures, he said, started from the 3M simultaneous movement (draining, closing water reservoirs, burying used goods) which could potentially cause puddles.
“If it is possible we will give Abate to the community,” he emphasized.
