Dengue continues to grow in the department of Huila. According to the departmental Health Secretariat, 2,196 cases of dengue have been confirmed, of which 88 were classified as severe dengue.
“According to epidemiological bulletin number 33, we have a total of 2,196 cases of dengue, of which 729 were classified as dengue with alarm signs, and 88 cases classified as severe dengue, which were treated according to the comprehensive protocol for the management of cases of dengue from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection”indicated Paola Garzón, support professional of the Vector-Transmitted Diseases Program of the Huila Health Secretariat.
Similarly, the Huila Ministry of Health confirmed that Colombia, Tello, Aipe, Neiva, Palermo, Rivera, Yaguará, Campoalegre, Paicol, Gigante, Garzón and San Agustín are the municipalities that are in the outbreak zone.
In turn, the accumulated data to date reveals that 1,582 cases of dengue have been identified in the population under 18 years of age, a situation that should draw the attention of parents, caregivers and the educational community.
