SUMENEP, koranmadura.com – The Health Office for Population Control and Family Planning (Dinkes P2KB) Sumenep, Madura, East Java, again reminded the public to be vigilant and prevent the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
This is because in January, data from the Sumenep P2KB Health Office showed an increase in DBP cases in the easternmost district of Madura Island compared to last year in the same period.
“DHF cases in Sumenep have increased. Now it is 134. Last year we were still lower,” said the Head of the Sumenep P2KB Health Office Agus Mulyono, Monday, January 23, 2023.
According to him, one of the factors that has increased dengue cases is that Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes are given the opportunity to lay eggs, then become larvae and become mosquitoes.
Therefore, efforts that can be made to prevent dengue cases from increasing, include the 3M plus mosquito nest eradication movement (PSN).
The intended 3M plus is draining water reservoirs; tightly closing all water reservoirs; reuse waste of used goods that have economic value (recycling); plus prevent mosquito bites.
“Then another effort is by fumigating or fogging in places where someone is confirmed to be infected with DHF,” added the man who is familiarly called Agus. (FATHOL ALIF/ROS/VEM)
