Dengue is a disease transmitted by mosquitoes and there is currently no vaccine to combat it.. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mosquitoes become infected when they bite a person who is already infected with the virus. Infected mosquitoes can then transmit the virus to other people.

There are three different manifestations of the disease: dengue fever; hemorrhagic fever; and hemorrhagic shock. Among the symptoms of dengue are fever; bone pain, severe headache in the forehead area, eye pain; Rash on the skin; nausea, vomiting; insomnia; itch; lack of appetite and abdominal pain. Normally “bearded man fever”, as it is commonly known, appears within a period of 4 to 7 days.
