Dengue attacks five residents of Selajambe, Cianjur

CIANJUR – As many as five residents of Kamiran village, Selajambe village, Sukaluyu district, Cianjur regency, have been affected by dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). The five people tested positive for DHF within a month and were treated in hospital.

Selajambe village chief Agus Junaedi confirmed that there were residents positive for DHF. “Yes, there are five people from the same village in Kamiran village,” he said on Thursday (12/29/2022).

According to him, the residents were attacked by the DHF within a week and alternately. Presumably due to weather changes and the existence of an unclean place for mosquitoes to breed.

“Those (five residents) who tested positive for DHF were treated in the hospital and are now recovered, then returned to their respective homes. We have reported this incident to the Sukaluyu Health Center to receive treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sukaluyu Health Center head Dr Nurul Hadie through Surpelans officer R Asep Sumarjo said his team had received reports of residents of Kamiran village, Selajambe village who tested positive for DHF extension. He then he checks the location immediately.

“We, together with environmental health officers from Sukaluyu Public Health Center, are examining the location for Epidemiological Investigation (PE) to see whether there are larvae or not. After carrying out an investigation it was found that there were five residents while only one person reported it,” he said.

He revealed, after checking the location, that his team found mosquito larvae in the homes of residents in Kamiran village.

“We immediately proceeded to conduct DHF consultations to residents in Kamiran village by providing an understanding of DHF. These include maggot signs, maggot cycle, and prevention by two methods, chemical and physical,” he said.

According to him, there is no tarnish yet. However, the focus will be on Eradicating Mosquito Nests (PSN) first. “The point is that we will do prevention through the PSN and the sowing of abatization has not yet led to the spraying of Fogging”, he concluded. NDI
