After a relatively quiet start to the day, the attacks between Israel and Hamas seem to be increasing again in recent hours. Earlier today, there were no rocket attacks for several hours, according to DPA news agency. After that, Hamas fired rockets again from the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli army, the air-raid alarm went off again after six hours of silence. The rocket attacks killed two and wounded twelve.
Last night there were reports of Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip again. It is still unclear what the scope is; Al Jazeera writes that at least 30 air raids have been carried out. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that a laboratory has been damaged, preventing the health service from conducting corona tests or vaccinations.
So far, one death has been reported on the Palestinian side today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health says. 213 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip so far.
‘Joint demonstration’
Furthermore, Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are demonstrating against “the Israeli bombing and oppression”. Palestinian shop owners closed their doors. A general strike among Palestinians has been called, not only in the occupied territories, but also in Israel. In some Arab neighborhoods, 90 percent of the business is closed there, one of the organizers told Reuters news agency.
