Demonstrations demand PM Hasina’s resignation in chaotic Bangladesh, 50 die

Presentations to the Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina the retreat ended in chaos. Up to 50 people were reported dead.

Reported by AFP, clashes took place between Bangladeshi activists demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and government supporters. The show was held on Sunday (4/8/2024) local time.

“The death toll from Sunday’s clashes between Bangladeshi protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and government supporters has risen to at least 50,” police and doctors said.

They reported deaths across the South Asian country, with “at least 14 policemen” among those killed and another 300 officers injured, police spokesman Kamrul Ahsan said.

As is known, since early July, a series of student protests have caused massive riots, bloodshed and chaos across Bangladesh.
