Demonstrations against Corona requirements in Erfurt, Suhl and Altenburg

More than 500 people demonstrated against the Corona requirements in Erfurt on Saturday afternoon. According to a police spokeswoman, they gathered for a rally on Cathedral Square. This was registered by the lateral thinking initiative. After the permitted number of 500 participants had been reached, the barriers were closed.

Exceeded number of participants

Up to 330 people stayed outside the bars. Two people were provisionally arrested for defying identity or insulting an officer. The police also recorded several violations of the conditions of the event, such as the obligation to keep a distance and the wearing of a mouth and nose cover.

Car parades in Suhl and Altenburg

In the afternoon, a car parade rolled through the city in Suhl. According to the police, 76 vehicles took part in the registered protest, which was also directed against the corona rules.

The police initiated 30 proceedings for administrative offenses because the participants had not complied with the requirements of the assembly authority. Accordingly, the participants were not allowed to horn, especially in front of hospitals and old people’s homes. A parade with 45 vehicles also took place in Altenburg.
