OSLO / SANDVIKA (Dagbladet): On Saturday afternoon, the organization Stop the Islamization of Norway (Sian) is starting its demonstration in Sandvika in Bærum municipality, says Dagbladet’s reporter on the spot.
It is reported that the police have tried to calm down black-clad counter-protesters who have shouted “the Nazi”, and that they have also arrested one of them. ‘Get out of my city! Nazisvin! Nazi pig! ”It is shouted on the spot.
The police inform that there has been an incident that has led to up to ten people being brought in due to disorderly conduct and provocation.
The demonstration and the counter-demonstration are characterized by shouting, whistling and rattling, and it is stated that it is difficult to hear what Sian says, but that they have talked about rape of Norwegian girls, and made accusations against politicians. “Islam is synonymous with what we in the West call barbarism”, is among what Sian leader Lars Thorsen said on Saturday.
Checking everyone on the bridge
Sian stands on the City Stage in Sandvika on one side of the Sandvik River, while about 100 listeners and counter-protesters stand on the other side of the river.
Dozens of police officers are present in Sandvika. Dagbladet’s reporter states that the police are investigating everyone who crosses the bridge, and that at least one person has been arrested.
– Not welcome
Leader Adrian Larsen of UngKom tells Dagbladet that he thinks it is important to mark against what Sian stands for, and believes that it is important that the counter-demonstration does not lead to riots.
– It is difficult to have control when such things happen, and it does not serve our cause, Larsen says to Dagbladet.
Dagbladet also spoke with leader Tilde Marie Børsum in Bærum Ap, and group leader Stein Stugu for the party Rødt in Bærum municipal council.
– It is a great provocation that Sian chooses to hold this celebration in Bærum, Stugu tells Dagbladet and points out that Philip Manshaus committed a terrorist attack in the municipality, and that a July 22 monument has been erected there.
– It is important to prevent these forces, and it is important to show that Sian is not welcome here, says Stugu.
Pastor Dorothee Ziller in Bærum tells Dagbladet that she also thinks it is important to put up a counter-demonstration to resist “these forces”.
