A demo version of the long-awaited prequel mod to Dark Souls 3 – Dark Souls: Archthrones – has been released. Archthrones is a retelling of the Dark Souls universe and a comprehensive game mod for Dark Souls 3. The mod has its own story, based on the deepest secrets of the Dark Souls mythos.
Like all major mods, Dark Souls Archthrones introduces new enemies, bosses, armor, weapons, and spells. Fans of Demon’s Souls will also be happy to know that Archthrones’ level structure was inspired by it. Not only that, the mod promises to offer rich NPC quest lines.
Players will relive some of the most memorable moments of the entire trilogy in one mod, with new interpretations of iconic characters and some interpretations you’ve only seen in item descriptions. Archthrones also offers a non-linear progression system. Players can explore each throne at their own pace and in the order they want.
