Demolition works immediately increase tension in ‘Home made’: couples in tears | TV

TVAfter the introduction of all couples and the farewell to the first dropouts, the real work can begin in ‘Huismade’. The six remaining duos start the demolition work in the third episode, although they immediately cause tensions.

Especially in Lokeren and Laakdal there are struggles and the first tears are shed. There is also the tight deadline that the couples received from presenter Dina Tersago (42) for something in between. Anyone who does not make it may not start on the first bedroom. For the participants there is therefore not much else to do than break out floors, demolish walls and bring down ceilings as if their life – or rather their dream house – depended on it.

Emiel is the mood maker in Laakdal. He indulges himself completely with the rough demolition works and carries on like a brute. “Breaking that down, that’s my thing”, it sounds. But his nonchalance is at odds with Amber and Kenny’s order and structure. “We like to work in a structured way. We start on something and want to finish it right away, ”says Kenny. “We are very strict about this, they are a bit looser.” “I think that some people here on the yard want to make a problem out of something very small rather quickly,” Emiel responds lightly. He focuses on strengthening the door frame. With cement instead of mortar. And that is not to the liking of Cerina, who puts the finishing touches on her site visit. “We are renovating, not DIY.”

The works in Kortrijk have been halted for two weeks due to asbestos. Harry and Jerina and Femke and Tobias are therefore eager to get started. Although order and tidiness is also a stumbling point there. “I have never seen anyone arrange a container,” Harry remarks when Femke wants to create order out of the chaos there too. Site leader Cerina pays a visit to the building and leaves the couples with a laundry list of to do’s. First of all: tackling a stubborn damp spot.

The couples in Lokeren also feel wet, when it suddenly starts to rain in various places in the building. That could be detrimental to meeting their deadline. But before Anaïs and Pieter and Antje and Ruben can start with the major works, they first have to flog another kitten. They can’t even agree on the shed’s destination. Ruben and Antje see it as an ideal studio, Anaïs and Pieter a living room. “Nobody wants to take a step back, so we need a third party with expertise,” says Ruben. Site manager Cerina comes to put things in order.
