Demolition Closed the Italian Pavilion Floriade: the country owes 150 thousand euros | Economy

The demolition of the Italian pavilion at the Floriade site in Almere has been suspended because the country still has an outstanding debt with the construction company Reimert Bouw. This is an amount of 150,000 euros, the company confirms Thursday after reporting from Flevoland transmission.

The construction company provided the layout of the Floriade site for several countries. But since the summer it seems impossible to get money from the Italians. Of the 180,000 euros, only 30,000 euros were paid.

“Everyone is aiming for each other and no one pays the bill,” explains Reimert Bouw’s management. “It is scandalous that it is played this way.”

The company has chosen to take possession of it. This means that the demolition work has stopped and no one can enter the site. Reimert Bouw hopes this will increase the pressure on Italy. The site must be delivered empty by the end of the year.

La Floriade was visited by over 685,000 people this year. This is far less than the two million that was counted on. This has up to losses of tens of millions of euros carried.
