Democrats: These are the thirteen new MEP candidates – 2024-04-07 03:14:42

With the announcement of thirteen new names, the ballot of the Democrats of Andreas Loverdos continues to be filled today. People from society, with different professions, from different regions of the country. According to the President of the party, they are all united by “love for the country, common sense and moderation”.

It is recalled that fourteen candidates were announced two days ago, while next week all forty-two names that have been selected to be MEP candidates with the Democrats-Andreas Loverdos party are expected to be announced.

Following are the names and biographies of the thirteen candidates announced today.

1. Apostolos Avdelas

He was born on October 10, 1956 and has been active in the field of journalism for 40 consecutive years. Married to Sofia Terzanidou, former Eurobank executive and daughter of Christos Terzanidis, legendary veteran PAOK footballer. He is the father of three children, Konstantinos, a Political Science graduate of the AUTH School of Law, and twins Anna and Christina, both graduates of the Theological School of the AUTH. He took his first journalistic steps at the age of twenty-four in the Thessaloniki newspaper and continued on the state radio of ERT. In 1996, journalistic paths led him to “Aggelioforos” where he worked for 15 years serving it with ethics, validity and a clear journalistic conscience. In the elections of July 7, 2019, MP A’ is elected for the first time.

2. Charalambos Aidonopoulos

He was born in Thessaloniki. He is a Surgeon-Urologist, Doctor of the University of Athens.

3. Apostolos Vlachos

He was born in Thessaloniki in 1967. He graduated from AUTH with a degree in Economics, obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration from Strathclyde University in Scotland and qualified as a DPO, as an ISO31000, ISO27001 expert and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is the owner of three small businesses, has rich experience in the management and development of businesses and especially in matters of Commercial Development, Installation of Recycling Systems, Personal Data Protection and Internal Audit services. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while his active participation in politics began in his youth as a member of PASP and later PASOK. He is the President of the Institute for Small and Medium Business Studies, a member of the Democrats and responsible for the Development and Investment sector. He is a permanent resident of Anokios Attica and married with three children.

4. Yannis Vouros

He was born in Athens and grew up in New Philadelphia. He comes from Chios and Kavala. Graduated from the Philosophical School of EKPA, graduated in Journalism and the Drama School of the National Theatre. He was a track and field athlete of AEK and a player in the amateur sections of its football team. He has starred for many years on television and as an actor, director and producer has served all kinds of theater. Founding member of the “Laboratory” organization for people with mental retardation, supporter of the “MDA Hellas” foundation for people with neuromuscular diseases and sponsor of the Social Responsibility Association for children and young people with disabilities. He was a member of the National Council of PASOK, a Member of Parliament in the period 2009-2012 and Vice-President of the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs of the Parliament. In 2013-2015 he was the Artistic Director of the State Theater of Northern Greece. In June 2019, he was elected Mayor of Nea Philadelphia – Nea Chalkidona.

5. Lydia Ioannidou-Mouzaka

Surgeon-Gynecologist-Mammologist, Professor at the University of Athens,

National Representative of Greece at ECIBC of the EU for the drafting of new European guidelines for the diagnosis, screening and treatment of breast cancer (2014-present).

She was born and raised in Istanbul, she is self-made, she studied as a medical worker.

6. Emilia Kakavanis

He was born in Athens. He is a child of a large family. Her parents are teachers with a rich work and social activity. She grew up in Agios Achaias, where she completed her encyclical studies. He is a graduate of the Public Administration Department of Panteion University. He has postgraduate studies and trainings in England, France and Switzerland. Having over 25 years of work experience in Greece but also internationally in various fields, such as finance, marketing, shipping, and the hotel industry, he has developed strong organizational skills, strategic thinking and understanding of global economic issues. She is a certified life coach. He speaks English, French and German. It focuses on education, health, innovation and the strengthening of the female presence and will work for a strong position of our country in the United Europe.

7. Georgia Lambrakis

Georgia Lambrakis is 44 years old and comes from Ierapetra, Crete. She is a Financial Analyst with a master’s degree in International Marketing. In 2003 he graduated from the School of Accounting & Finance of the Hellenic Mediterranean University of Heraklion, Crete. In 2005 she completed her postgraduate studies in International Marketing (University of the West of Scotland). He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of financial & business analysis, financial planning and the development of innovative business solutions in large private sector companies in Greece and abroad. He has been living and working in Germany for the last 10 years. She is married and the mother of 2 children.

8. Eleni Mathiopoulos

He comes from Arcadia and lives in Athens. He is an educator, with a degree in English Literature from EKPA. He worked for a number of years in Foreign Language Schools, in a privately owned Language Center and then as an English language teacher in Secondary Public Education. He served in the European Union Directorate of the Ministry of Education and participated in scientific groups for the drafting of comparative studies of the European Education Network “EURYDICE” and the European Agency for Special Education. As a teacher in Secondary Education, she participated in the State Diploma in Linguistics as an examiner, in the development of the European ERASMUS program as well as in the implementation of cultural and educational programs. He speaks English, Spanish, French, Italian.

9. Vasiliki Manolaki

He was born in Chania, but lives and works in Rhodes. Graduate of E.K.P.A. from the Department of Political Science-Public Administration. Holder of a Master’s Degree from the Department of Humanities of the University of the Aegean. He was a Labor Adviser and EURES Adviser for the Dodecanese at the Public Employment Service (DYPA) from 2003 to 2014. From 2015 to 2020 he prepared a series of Geopolitical-Geostrategic Research for the European Commission. Partner of the South Aegean Region as Managing Director of the Vocational Training and Lifelong Learning Center “KEK G. Gennimatas SA. Tourism entrepreneur in family business since 1990. Honored the Greek Flag twice as First Pan-European and First World Champion.

10. Stylianos Mouzakitis

He was born in 1980 in Athens. He finished the basic stages of his education in Paros and graduated from the University of Ioannina in the department of “Organization and Management of Agricultural Holdings”. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Ioannina in “Agricultural Product Quality Certification”. He worked in the Private Sector, including as a Business and Farmer Financial Advisor until 2013. From 2014 until now, he has been working as a Public Servant.

Active citizen who takes an active part in committees such as “FOR THIS” and “WE THE CITIZENS”. He likes sailing, is a disabled athlete and a proud member of LGBTQIA + .

11. Pantelis Perivolaris

Award-winning journalist with a career spanning more than 30 years in print and online media. Scholar of Greek Culture, with postgraduate studies in modern and contemporary politics, Greek and European history and a PhD candidate in Mediterranean, regional and European relations. Author, active basketball player, married with two children and an adopted stray dog. Born in the USA in 1973, he grew up in Athens. He was a candidate for parliament in the district of Kastoria with PASOK. He has been honored in the US for his contribution to sports. His historical, scientific study, “Change” and the change in the Cypriot, Andreas Papandreou and Cyprus 1981-1989 gathered very warm comments from academics, politicians of all political factions and Cypriot officials.

12. Ioanna Petousi

Born in Serres and raised in a military family. Graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of Iasi, Romania and specialized in General Dentistry. For the last 26 years I have been running a private Dental Practice in Piraeus and I live in Alimos. I am also a Scientific Associate in a General Private Clinic of Piraeus and in the company providing Medical Services, SOS Doctors SA. I have participated in voluntary Dental actions and in numerous seminars and conferences in Greece and abroad. Active member of the DEMOCRATS with the duties of Coordinator of the Health Sector. I speak English and Romanian. My goal is my substantial contribution to the vision of a renewed Europe with active and effective Greek representatives.

13. Panagiotis Saradeas
