Democrats fight in New Hampshire for presenting themselves as the safe letter to get Trump out of the White House | News Univision Elections in the USA 2020

There was no predicted clash between the senator Bernie Sanders and the former mayor Pete Buttigieg in the Democratic debate prior to the New Hampshire primary elections, where there was a careta in which the courtesy dominated and the conviction that unity is necessary to take out Donald Trump of the White House.

Although at times the seven Democratic candidates – of the 11 who remain in the race – who participated succumbed to the custom of criticizing each other, the blows were not very blunt and the cordiality was the mark of the night, with hugs and jokes among the candidates to face Trump in November.

The dynamics between Buttigieg and Sanders was the one that generated the most attention, because both are considered the winners of the Iowa caucus, with about 26% of the votes each, although there has not been an official winner, five days after the assemblies with which the process of primaries for the selection of the presidential candidate opens.

There were a couple of occasions when it seemed that the expected shock would occur, such as when the former mayor doubted that the solution to the current political situation could occur using what he called “the long experience” in Washington, in clear allusion to most of his opponents except for the entrepreneur Andrew Yang and billionaire Tom Steyer.

Sanders did not return the blow until later when, when criticizing the campaign of billionaire Michael Bloomberg, he took the opportunity to make an allusion to the campaigns to be financed with money from interest groups and large corporations, such as Buttigieg.

In general, the performance of the Democratic candidates seemed to reproduce the previous meetings. Only Senator Amy Klobuchar showed a greater dose of energy, perhaps taken from what she considers was a good result for her in Iowa, where she obtained 12% of the vote, just 3 points from former Vice President Joe Biden, who wore a little more confident than in previous debates, despite the fourth place he won in the caucuses of the Midwestern state.

These are the highlights of the eighth Democratic debate.
