But an Atlanta Journal-Constitution review of court records and other public documents contradicts Walker’s statements about the number of people his companies employ, their size and the assets they own. The review also revealed a series of defaults, settlements and lawsuits alleging Walker and his companies owed millions of dollars in unpaid loans.
And while Walker credits his wealth to his business acumen, much of it appears to come from his celebrity status as a football legend through speaking engagements and brand ambassadors, according to campaign financials.
Much like his friend Donald Trump, Herschel Walker makes his money being famous, and his business career is nothing like what he’s trying to sell to voters in Georgia.
Walker has allegations of domestic violence and threatening to kill domestic partners in her past. He’s already a candidate with enough questions in his track record to give voters serious pause.
Herschel Walker appears to be a candidate in Trump mode. He’s a celebrity who has no experience or qualifications for the seat he’s running for, but he hopes being famous will be enough to get him elected.
Control of the Senate may hinge on Georgia, and Herschel Walker gives the Democrats a good shot at staying in the majority.
