Democratic party respond to establishment targets’Change Coalition‘ before the proposed Ramadan PKS. Democrats reveal a number of things that must be followed up.
“There are a number of things that must be followed up and finalized beforehand, namely the signing of a memorandum of understanding supporting three party chairmen to fulfill the 20% presidential threshold, a commitment to fight for people’s aspirations for change and improvement,” said Deputy Bappilu DPP DPP, Kamhar Lakumani to reporters, Wednesday (1 /2/2023).
Kamhar said that regarding the candidate for presidential candidate, his party gave full rights to Anies Baswedan. He then asked Anies to immediately choose a vice presidential candidate so that he could immediately declare the complete package with the coalition.
“Bacawapres, NasDem, Democrat and PKS cases have been fully handed over to Mas Anies,” said Kamhar.
“Indeed, this takes time and calm to be decided, but we hope that Mas Anies will immediately determine his cawapres so that he can immediately make a plenary declaration of the Coalition for Change along with their presidential and cawapres candidates or a complete package declaration,” he continued.
Kamhar then alluded to his aspirations for a duet between Anies and Ketum Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). He considered it legitimate, even so the decision was in Anies’ hands.
“Regarding the aspirations for the Anies-AHY duet, both from volunteers, cadres, and the community, as captured by the results of various survey institutions, that is legitimate. However, we emphasize that this Cawapres matter has been handed over to Mas Anies,” added Kamhar.
Previously, PKS targeted that the affairs of forming the coalition axis would be completed and can be declared before entering Ramadan. PKS spokesperson M Kholid said the joint declaration was just waiting for the right time.
“Our progress has been very advanced. PKS has just finished the declaration and National Working Meeting and will proceed to the consolidated areas. I think the joint declaration is just a matter of timing and momentum,” said Kholid, Tuesday (28/2/2023).
Kholid emphasized that the three candidate parties for the coalition axis had handed over the decision regarding the determination of the vice presidential candidate to Anies. Kholid hopes that the candidate for this coalition can be declared before entering Ramadan at the end of March.
“The issue with the cawapres, both PKS, Democrats and NasDem have conveyed that they have given this authority to the presidential candidate. God willing, our presidential candidate, Mr. Anies Baswedan, will choose the best one. So give him more space and time to make a choice,” he said.
“Hopefully before Ramadan is over,” he added.
However, he could not confirm whether the coalition declaration would be in accordance with the announcement of Anies’ vice presidential candidate. He left the decision entirely up to Anies.
“For the cawapres, we are waiting for the presidential candidate’s decision. If the presidential candidate is okay, then it’s okay,” he said.
