There are currently three trials in progress.
Although the Daejang-dong, Wirye New Town, Baekhyeon-dong, and Seongnam FC trials are progressing slowly due to major cases being tied up, the election law case trial is expected to reach its first conclusion within this year, and the perjury trial has also progressed considerably.
During the three years remaining until the presidential election, if anyone is sentenced to imprisonment or higher, Representative Lee will lose his seat in the National Assembly and cannot run.
Cho Kuk, leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, was sentenced to two years in prison by the appeals court on charges of corruption in his children’s entrance exams and tampering with inspections, with only the Supreme Court ruling remaining.
