Democratic Party Firmly Rejects Right to Inquiry Proposal on Alleged Fraud in 2024 Presidential Election: AHY

Jakarta

The Democratic Party has firmly stated that it rejects the proposal for the Right to Inquiry in the DPR RI regarding allegations of fraud in the 2024 Presidential Election. This firm stance was conveyed directly by the Chairman of the Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

“The Democrats refuse. We firmly reject it. Because first, although we respect anyone in this country who exercises political rights, political rights are various formats that are constitutionally important, but for us, we firmly reject them because for us there is no urgency. ” said AHY after a friendly meeting with all cadres at the Democratic Party DPP, Central Jakarta, Friday (8/3/2024).

AHY also assessed that so far the 2024 presidential election has been safe and peaceful. He also said that the vote share between the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Prabowo-Gibran was significant compared to their opponents.

“This is a reality and of course it is difficult to see that there is structured, massive fraud there. The point is because the distance is too far, I think it is difficult to have a narrative like that, the argument is not strong perhaps,” said AHY.

However, he emphasized that the proposal for the right to inquiry was legal as a form of democracy. It’s just that he believes that the long vote distance is proof that the public’s support for Prabowo-Gibran is very large.

“We confirmed that for 3 months, morning, afternoon and evening on campaign stages, entering villages, entering markets, there were indeed many community groups who gave their support to Pak Prabowo to become President. So in my opinion what is shown in the current results “This indeed shows great and strong support from the people,” he concluded.
