On July 5, 2023, the former minister of PASOK resigned from all PASOK-KINAL bodies, in which he participated, and also from the status of party member. Then he pointed out that the reasons for his resignation are purely political and that he explained them “in a highly confidential letter” to the President of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis. His departure from Harilaou Trikoupi had not caused any surprise, as his deviations from the official line were frequent, while in the internal party geography he was placed with pro-ND forces and mainly with anti-SYRIZA.
