Demo with empty chairs and tables: innkeepers feel forgotten by the Free State

Restaurateurs from all over Saxony want to draw attention to their endangered existence on Friday from 11 a.m. on the Neumarkt in front of the Dresden Frauenkirche.

Dresden – It will be a celebration: restaurateurs from all over the world Saxony want to draw attention to their endangered existence on Friday from 11 a.m. on the Neumarkt in front of the Dresden Frauenkirche. Empty tables, chairs and a petition are to illustrate their fate.

“Gastronomy is always a bit forgotten when it comes to funding,” complains Ute Stöhr from the “shooting gallery” on Schützenplatz in the state capital.

She had to send 30 employees on short-time work. So far, all support programs in the Free State have passed the hosts.

For example, apprentices and student assistants need to be helped urgently.

“Our employees live on fixed salaries, night and holiday bonuses and tips – with 60 percent of the salary, many cannot feed their families,” the petition says.

It is said to be handed over in a saucepan to, among others, the state parliament member Lars Rohwer (46, CDU) this Friday.

And further: “After a long winter and the typical summer preparations, we restaurateurs, hoteliers and organizers have empty cash registers and no more income (…) We can understand the closure regulations made, but please fight with us for a little compensation for an apparently forgotten industry. ”

The addressee is the state government.
