A promotional CD containing fourteen songs by a thirteen-year-old Ed Sheeran has been auctioned for 50,000 pounds (more than 55,000 euros), reports auction house Omega Auctions. The yield is five times as high as expected.
As far as is known, there are 21 copies of the demo Spinning Man in circulation, most of which is owned by Sheeran. According to the auction house, Sheeran gave the auctioned copy to the selling party’s brother around 2008.
Sheeran brought Spinning Man self-released in 2005. The singer recorded the album the year before, when he was thirteen years old.
The songs on Spinning Man Sheeran reportedly wrote when his then love had broken his heart. The promo CD includes the songs Adicted in Typical Average.
