Demented man missing overnight in freezing cold: ‘Left without coat’

Police are very concerned about the disappearance of a 63-year-old man suffering from dementia in Breda. The man left the nursery of a health institution on Bernard de Wildestraat on Thursday afternoon on foot and without a coat.

The man was last seen on Thursday evening at around seven in an indoor ice rink on Terheijdenseweg in Breda. “There he had a drink and was last seen. We are very concerned about the man, he is not wearing a coat or winter clothes and there are fewer than six,” a police spokesman explained.

Heusdenhout
Police surveillance teams are looking for the man on the street. The investigation focuses largely on Breda-Noord and the district of Heusdenhout, which is the district where the man and his family live.

“If people saw the man after seven Thursday night, we’d like to know. So we can search for him in a more targeted way,” police said.

The man has an Indian appearance, wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and a blue blouse. He has short gray hair and is 1.65 meters tall.
