The NFL Hall of Fame class of 2023 is getting better and better. This Wednesday the Committee of The Pro Football Hall of Fame has unveiled its list of 15 modern-era finalists who will be immortalized in Canton, Ohio this February. This list, which has undergone a cut that included 28 semifinalists it will be reduced at the annual meeting of the HOF to 10 members and finally to just five.
For now, this is the list of 15 modern-era finalists for the Class of 2023 Hall of Fame.

After a 24-hour delay out of respect for S Damar Hamlin, the NFL Hall of Fame Committee this Wednesday announced 15 modern-era finalists who, along with three senior finalists and a coach/staff, will be considered for the class of 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame when the full HOF selection committee meets to select the class next February. Each of the finalists would be inducted into Canton, Ohio if they receive a minimum of 80% yes votes in the final ballot.
The Modern Era shortlist includes 10 players who reached this stage of the selection process when the class of 2022 was selected, three players in their first year of eligibility, and two players who are finalists for the first time in 35 years of eligibility put together.
Without further ado, the finalists are as follows:

What’s next for the Class of 2023 finalists?
Selection committeemade up of 49 Hall of Famers, will select the Class of 2023 before Super Bowl LVII in Glenendale, Arizona. The picks will be announced live on the scheduled NFL Honors broadcast next February 9th at 21:00 local time. And while there is no fixed number for any class, the selection committee’s bylaws state that four to nine new members will be elected.
With the inclusion of the candidate by the Coach/Collateral Committee, Don Corell; and the nominees from the senior committee, Chuck Howley, Joe Kleko yes And Riley; finalists for the Class of 2023 total number 19. Coryell, as well as Howley, Klecko and Riley, will be voted “yes” or “no” for election at the annual selection meeting and must receive at least 80 percent support from the Committee to enter the Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile, the current modern era finalists will be reduced during the same match from 15 to 10, and then down to just five. The remaining finalists will also be voted individually, “yes” or “no”, and likewise must receive 80% of the votes in order to be immortalized in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Finally, it should be mentioned that this announcement was due to be released this Tuesday at 8pm local time. However, the decision to postpone it, stemming from the Damar Hamlin event, was taken after talks between officials of the Hall of Fame, NFL Networkand the same league.
