A man from the commune San Antonio, in the Valparaíso region, was arrested for the crime of kidnappingafter detaining a mechanic from the same area against his will and demanding the payment of more than one million pesos for his release.
The 31-year-old detainee was apprehended by personnel from the Police Investigation Section (SIP) of the uniformed policeafter a complaint made by a relative of the kidnapped subject.
According to information from the San Antonio Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant and a second person involved arrived at the mechanical workshop of the 42-year-old victim, and under threats they took him out of the place to take him to another point in the commune. Once there, They forced him to call someone to demand $1,600,000 as a ransom. Everything, as it turned out, due to previous quarrels.
The victim called her sister, who finally reported the situation to carabinieri, who quickly found the address where the subject was kidnapped. Fortunately, could be released in good condition.
