Apple deserves to smile big again because the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are the bestsellers. The two new iPhone models have been sold publicly in many countries in just a few days since their official launch last week.
Interestingly, from all indications, the demand for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is solid. Several recent reports also mention that the increased demand has prompted Apple to boost orders for the iPhone 12 by two million units from its supply chain partners.
As we all know, the iPhone 12 comes with an OLED screen and uses a flat design. The smartphone has also emerged as the first iPhone to come with 5G connectivity and all this seems to have sparked consumer interest in buying the smartphone.
Regarding this information, the closest source from the iPhone supply chain has reportedly revealed Apple’s decision to increase its order by 2 million units. The source also expressed optimism about the delivery of Apple’s product line next year.
The estimate released by Cinda Securities estimates that the demand for the iPhone 12 series may reach 80 to 85 million units. It is also estimated that Apple will likely ship around 230 to 240 million iPhone 12 units next year.
If these estimates really happen, the iPhone 12 series will emerge as the best-selling smartphone the American company has ever seen. The record is currently still held by the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with an estimated massive shipment of 222.4 million units.
Meanwhile, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revealed that an estimated 7 to 9 million units of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro were pre-ordered before the official sale began. He also estimates that the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will account for 60 to 70% of total shipments of the iPhone 12 series.
Still from the estimates stated by Kuo, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the top iPhone model and the most basic model, the iPhone 12 mini, will each account for around 15 to 20% of total shipments. Once again, if the prediction is right, Apple deserves to smile broadly in front of its competitors.
