From few people to short lines, this is how the flow of citizens who come to the vaccination centers in search of the third dose of the covid-19 vaccine has evolved in the different parts of Greater Santo Domingo where they have been enabled.
A little over a week after the formal start of the application of the reinforcement against the disease that has already claimed the lives of 3,889 Dominicans, some coordinators of campuses agree that those who arrive for the third supplement are more until those of the second dose.
“Here the vaccines are being placed all the doses, both from Sinovac and Pfizer, mainly the third. The third is the one that is being sought the most,” said Ramón Méndez, representative of the Pedro Henriquez Ureña National University (Unphu) in the vaccination day.
According to Méndez, older adults have returned to the center in response to government regulations and are, according to the spokesperson, “more aware than young people.”
“Right now, young people are not the same, but older adults are, they maintain their vaccination rate,” he added.
However, Méndez indicated that the tendency for the flow of people to drop on weekends still persists.
In the case of the Olympic center, Dr. Adalgiza Pérez, who coordinates the vaccination in the place, explained that there is a similar situation with respect to the third dose.
“Very positive, very positive. It’s going very positive ”, were the words with which he described the first batch of the day.
Unlike Unphu, in the Olympics those who have attended to put their shoulders for a third time have been young people, according to the health worker.
