United States of America (US) previously exempted the rule of wearing masks for people who have been vaccinated. However, the policy seems to be reconsidered due to the threat of the Delta variant of the Corona virus.
Data from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show the prevalence of the Delta variant could more than double in just under two weeks.
As of June 5, 2021, cases of the Delta variant are known to contribute to approximately 10 percent of positive cases of COVID-19 in the US. Then on June 19 the cases increased, to around 26 percent.
The state of Los Angeles in a statement has even re-advised masks for everyone. Nearly half of Los Angeles’ COVID-19 cases are attributed to varian Delta.
“Due to the increased circulation of the highly contagious Delta variant, the Los Angeles Health Service strongly recommends that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in public spaces as a precautionary measure,” the Los Angeles Health Service said in a statement. /2021).
