Delta variant COVID cluster detected at French art school

Paris (ANTARA) – A cluster of Delta variants of COVID-19 infection was detected at an art school in the French city of Strasbourg, according to local health authorities on Saturday (12/6).

Four cases, confirmed as the highly contagious variant that originally emerged in India, were found at the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin.

The educational institution was closed by authorities on June 10 until further notice.

Officials at regional health agency Grand Est said they were testing dozens of people who may have been in contact with the four infected.

The health agency also runs a local vaccination campaign targeting the student community.
