Delta coronavirus strain in Ukraine confirmed in two more people

The disease with a new strain of coronavirus “Delta” was confirmed in two residents of Transcarpathia, who recently returned from Russia. One of the sick is a pregnant woman.

It is indicated that the head physician of the Transcarpathian infectious diseases hospital Mikhail Polyak confirmed the relevant information to journalists.

According to him, the test results were received today, July 14.

“On July 24, we sent tests of people suspected of having a Delta strain to Kiev, and Kiev to the European laboratory for research. Two results came back positive,” he said.

Pole also said that one of the patients is a pregnant woman, she was in the intensive care unit for more than 2 weeks. She has now been discharged and is at home.
