According to Ministry of Health, about 90% of new infections in Israel were probably caused by the Delta variant. Mostly adolescents under the age of 16 fell ill. Half of them have not yet received the coronavirus vaccine, but there are also cases of morbidity in adults who have already received the vaccine.
“Children under 16, most of whom have not been vaccinated, account for about half of those infected,” the government said.
This week, the government announced it will vaccinate children between the ages of 12 and 15 following a coronavirus outbreak among schoolchildren in a city in Israel. After that, the virus began to spread among adults who had already been fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
