A new daily connection between Geneva and New York was put into service on Tuesday. The American company Delta Air Lines will connect Cointrin to JFK airport every day of the week, during the summer season, announces a press release from Geneva airport. The plane will take off at 12:50 p.m. for an arrival at 3:25 p.m. local time. On the way back, the aircraft will leave the “Big Apple” at 8:45 p.m. to land the next day at 10:50 a.m. at the end of the lake.
According to the airport platform, this connection completes its long-haul offer, “a priority” in its eyes. She considers that “this meets an essential need for both international Geneva, the region’s economy and tourism”. Delta’s offer is in addition to that of United Airlines, which operated the Geneva-Newark route, in collaboration with Swiss. The airport considers that the arrival of this new player “will boost the market to the United States, which has been relatively stagnant for ten years”.
