Delmastro smokes in prison and posts photo, then deletes post

It must have been the social media manager’s fault this time too, who knows. The cigarette in his hand was certainly his. A small August case for the Undersecretary of Justice, Andrea Delmastro (Fdi). A character who has nothing to envy anyone in terms of gaffes and scandals, from the New Year’s Eve shooting to the brawl with the center-right mayoral candidate in his hometown of Biella.

But anyway, yesterday Delmastro visited the prisons of Brindisi and Taranto, where he met with Penitentiary Police officers and managers of the two facilities. At the end of the tour, he posted some photos of the day on his Instagram profile. In one, with a “no smoking” sign behind it – as is obvious in any public space – the undersecretary has a nice lit cigarette in his hand.

A detail that could not go unnoticed and ended up on X, relaunched by the account @nonleggerlo. If for a common mortal the gesture would have cost a very hefty fine, for Delmastro obviously no problem. And in fact among the comments there is a reference to the famous joke of the Marquis del Grillo played by Alberto Sordi: “I am me and you are nothing”.

Anyway, in the end, Delmastro chose the easy way out. Not to apologize or anything, but to delete the social post and goodnight.
