Delmastro, first new ‘Citadel of Justice’ in Ancona

(ANSA) – ANCONA, NOV 11 – The new judicial citadel is born in Ancona. Signed today, in the Municipality with the mayor Daniele Silvetti and the president of the Region Francesco Acquaroli, in the presence of the undersecretary of Justice, Andrea Delmastro, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Lucia Albano and the director of the State Property Agency Alessandra dal Verme (in video link), the purchase deed, from the State Property Agency, of the former INPS building in via Vecchini-piazza Cavour, abandoned since 2006, to be used as the seat of the Court of Appeal, of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic, of Surveillance Court and Notification Office. “Ancona represents the first stage – explained Delmastro – of nine reacquisitions of properties in Italy, mostly public, to be made available to the justice services. The next acquisitions concern Messina, Catania, Modena, two in Rome, one in Chieti and a Pistoia”. In Ancona the investment for the purchase of the six thousand square meters of the former INPS building by the Ministry is 5 million 800 thousand euros, around twenty million for the works which will last three years: “an investment for justice and for the city – commented the mayor -, a domino for urban regeneration”. “A saving – observed Del Mastro – for the administration of Justice of approximately 90 thousand euros per year in fees”. “There are those who previously proceeded with securitisations – the undersecretary underlined -, there are those who today proceed quickly in the opposite direction. Proud of this abysmal difference”. The new acquisitions “will all be completed within this mandate” assured the undersecretary who announced “excellent chances that the contracting authority can be identified in the Marche Region”, accepting the offer made by Acquaroli. Great satisfaction was expressed by the heads of the judicial offices who have been working for years to achieve this result and overcome the fragmentation of judicial activities in the city and the inconveniences for operators and citizens, thanks to the synergy between the institutions. Present at the press conference were the president of the Court of Appeal of Ancona Luigi Catelli, the attorney general of the Republic Roberto Rossi and the president of the Surveillance Court Raffaele Agostini and the director of the State Property Agency in the Marche Cristian Torretta.
