Dell announced that it will display two new monitors from the UltraSharp family at CES 2024. The models are available in 34″ or 40″, but for a very high price.
The new models are the UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub (U402QW) and the UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub (U3425WE). Both are built with IPS Black Panel technology which, according to Dell, presents better color contrast.
The 40-inch Dell UltraSharp features 5K resolution (5120x2160p), 120 Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness and DisplayHDR 600 certification.
In the UltraSharp 34 model, the resolution drops to QuadHD (3440x1440p), but with the same peak brightness and 120 Hz refresh rate. It is not clear whether there is DisplayHDR certification or support for VRR.
The two monitors can serve as the central point of a setup focused on versatility. The 40″ model can deliver 140W to a notebook via the Thunderbolt 4 input, while the UltraSharp 34 delivers 90W.
In terms of connections, the pair of Dell monitors have 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-A and USB-C input (with 15W output and 10 Gbps data transfer) and compatibility with various interoperability features between computers .
Price and availability
At this first moment, Dell UltraSharp monitors will be displayed at CES 2024, scheduled to take place between the 9th and 12th of January. The new line hits retail on February 27th.

These monitors are high-end products, focused on gamers or users who are looking for the best experience possible and don’t give up on having a monitor as large as a television, with cutting-edge features. Therefore, it is not an ideal product for everyone.
In any case, they are interesting competitors for those looking for something beyond the Samsung Odyssey line, also with new monitors for 2024. The South Korean manufacturer bets on unusual screen proportions, but includes smart TV features and interoperability.
