Dell is adding support for iPhones to its Mobile Connect software this spring. This allows laptop users to exchange files with their smartphone and receive notifications from the phone on their Windows laptop.
The software will be updated in the spring to add iOS support, says Dell. Mobile Connect works via WiFi and Bluetooth, and if the app is connected to a telephone, it is possible to see notifications and exchange files.
The software works on every laptop from the XPS, Inspiron, Vostro and Alienware series. It is standard on the laptop and requires no download. The software has been running on Android phones for a few years. All Mobile Connect functions also work on iOS, Dell claims. It is unknown when the update will be released.
