delivery of new uniforms to the Mata’utu school in Wa

More than 130 uniforms were distributed to parents of Mata’utu school students yesterday Saturday February 13 for the start of the school year. It is the only school in Wallis and Futuna that requires students to wear uniforms. A choice accepted by the parents.

A little back-to-school air already at Mata’utu school yesterday Saturday, February 12th. Parents were able to collect their children’s new uniforms. The trousseau is made up of 5 polo shirts and 5 T-shirts for 12,000 francs.

It’s practical, I have three children, so 5 clothes for each that they will use throughout the year. Especially since they are all happy to see that they are wearing the same uniform as their classmates and all the students in their school.

Total cost of uniforms: 1,500,000 francs, also financed by the parents. For this, each year, they organize a raffle to raise funds.

It allows children to change morning and afternoon, to always have spare sets.

Mata’utu school has been forcing its students to wear the same uniform for three years. A choice accepted by the parents.
