“We are disappointed, the court says there is an economic subordination, because the couriers carry out the journeys that are assigned to them by Deliveroo via the app,” said Jan Buelens, the couriers’ lawyer. “But the court also says that the couriers have a lot of freedom, for example, to schedule their hours themselves and how they fill in their work correctly (…) Deliveroo can present it nicely on paper, but in practice it goes differently (.. .) We would like to try to prove that even more firmly on appeal,” said Buelens.
