A month ago, Volkswagen announced that the start of sales of ID.3 electric hatchbacks is scheduled for June 17, and by this time all software problems identified at the end of last year will be completely eliminated. Now an official clarification has been published: starting from June 17, customers who left a preliminary application for an electric car from the first batch 1ST Edition, will be able to place a final order – and choose the further procedure for receiving the machine. Volkswagen offers two options: an electric car can be handed over to the client as early as September, but with limited on-board electronics functionality, or the delivery will be delayed until the end of the year, but the car will be completely ready for use. And for those who did not leave a request for a five-door from the first series, the acceptance of orders will open only in mid-July.
According to official information, the App Connect system and one of the projection display functions are included in the list of temporarily inactive programs. That is, the dampness of the software will not affect the work of key electronic assistants and even more so the power plant. In addition, all owners of the first production copies will be offered to participate in the program 1ST Mover Club (“Pioneer Club”), the essence of which is the ability to directly inform Volkswagen representatives about their experience in owning a car. If any complaints arise, they will be considered by the developers to fix the problem and update the software remotely. In addition, if the owner has acquired ID.3 on lease, he will be exempted from having to pay for the first three months.
