Don’t feel like cooking on Sunday March 12 or getting something from the Chinese or snack bar again? That’s good because that day you can go to CC De Pas from 10:00 to 18:00 for the tastiest, especially Turkish snacks.
Status holders from Heesch and Oss are organizing a culinary day next Sunday, together with a number of volunteers, the proceeds of which will entirely benefit the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Yasemin says: “Many of those sweet and savory snacks are made at home by status holders, but some are also made on site in De Pas. The snacks can be eaten on site or taken home. There is a microwave in De Pas to heat up the snacks if you choose to eat them there.”
Yasemin is affiliated with the now retired Prisma foundation from Oss. “The people who volunteered at this foundation were immediately very enthusiastic and were put in touch with status holders who will therefore provide the snacks. The money that will be raised in CC De Pas on this day will go to the Time to Help Netherlands Foundation; a humanitarian aid organization that works worldwide to improve the living conditions of the less fortunate in society in overcoming diseases, fears, violence, poverty and takes care of medical centers, emergency aid programs and organizing education projects in developing countries.”
Sunday, March 12, will be a pleasant day, even if the occasion is tragic. “We try to make it a positive day. There will be some music, children can color in coloring pictures together and they even sell some of their own toys, the proceeds of which will of course also benefit the victims of the earthquakes. People can also talk to each other that day and learn more about the current situation in Turkey and Syria. And… try the börek; a delicious dough dish made with yufka or phyllo dough,” concludes Yasemin enthusiastically.
