The film festival will be held at the Siri Fort Auditorium in South Delhi
New Delhi: The first edition of the Delhi Film Festival announced by the state government as part of the Rozgar Budget 2022-23 will be held in August, officials said. As part of the fair, 15 awards including Lifetime Achievement will be introduced for lifetime achievements. This includes five special mention awards, said a senior Delhi government official. The tourism department of the government is preparing the outline of the program. As soon as it is completed, the minister in charge of the initiative will discuss it with Atishi, officials said.
The film festival will be held at the Siri Fort Auditorium in South Delhi. The Department of Tourism has appointed many programmers to promote films from different countries in India as well. There will also be a special section on films from G-20 member countries. He said the government will appoint a seven-member jury, including two from abroad, to judge the film entries.
Film Policy: Objectives Multiple
Last year, the government launched the ‘Delhi Film Policy (Film Policy)-2022’ with an aim to raise funds of Rs 30 crore to support producers from Delhi and promote the city as a film production hub.
By implementing this, the film policy will be implemented in such a way as to attract filmmakers from all over the world to Delhi and promote tourism. Government will create new job and business opportunities related to tourism, art and culture sectors through Delhi Film Policy and Film Festival. The film policy will be implemented in a completely online single window. Through it, scholarships or stipends will be given to students of School of Drama, Film and Television Institute of India (Pune), Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (Kolkata) and National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad). Internship opportunities will also be provided.
