Thiruvananthapuram: SNDP General Secretary Vellapalli Natesan criticized NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair’s Tharavadi Nair remark. Vellapalli said that with the support of NSS, the political future of Shashi Tharoor MP is over. Delhi Nairs have now become Tharavadi Nairs. If he had said this, there would have been people to attack him. Vellapalli Natesan also asked if it is correct to call them Tharavadi Nair. Vellapalli also pointed out that no Congress leader has come forward against Sukumaran Nair’s remarks.
In an interview to The New Indian Express, G Sukumaran Nair described Shashi Tharoor as Tharavadi Nair. He is a global citizen. Hoping to get a glimpse of his great knowledge. He is also a person who erases political boundaries. It was wrong to call Tharoor a Delhi Nair during the election. The NSS General Secretary also said that he was invited to the Mannam Jayanti celebrations to correct his previous remarks. Sukumaran Nair had praised the inaugural Mannam Jayanthi public meeting, Shashi Tharoor, saying he was a son of Kerala.
Tharoor is a tribal Nair. Tharoor is the one who points out the problems in the Congress itself. And he is a leader who stands with the common man. So he should not be seen as just a Congressman. Sukumaran Nair also said that some Congress leaders did not like Tharoor’s participation in Mannam Jayanti. It shows their bad attitude. He added that there seems to be some truth in saying that a Nair cannot meet another Nair.
