Delhi government’s hotel, club, restaurant operators will have to submit police verification certificate by September 15, ultimatum

New Delhi. The Delhi government has made it mandatory for owners and firm partners running hotels, clubs and restaurants in the city to submit their police verification certificates by September 15. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. Officials said that this step has been taken to ensure that the person holding the excise license is of good moral character and does not have any criminal record.

The Excise Department in its recent order said that the operators or owners of hotels, clubs and restaurants as well as partners and directors of firms running such establishments will have to submit their police verification. A senior official said, ‘In view of the alleged irregularities related to the Excise Policy 2021-22, a precautionary step has been taken to see whether the retail liquor business in Delhi is affected by any unwanted person. The above liquor policy was withdrawn by the Delhi government.
