New Delhi: Jailed Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyender Jain resigned as ministers. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepted the resignation of both.

CBI arrested Manish Sisodia two days ago in the liquor case. He is currently in CBI custody for five days. Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain, who was arrested by ED in the black money case, has been in Tihar Jail for months.

The opposition demanded the immediate dismissal of the arrested ministers. Meanwhile, Sisodia approached the Supreme Court today regarding his arrest, but the court refused to intervene. The Chief Justice suggested that he could not interfere at this stage and approached the High Court. Subsequently, Sisodia filed a bail application in the High Court. Resignation followed.

Kejriwal may reorganize the Delhi cabinet as both have resigned. Sisodia managed about 18 departments including finance.
