President Andrés Manuel López Obrador described Delfina Gomez (Morena), governor-elect of the State of Mexico, as an exceptional, extraordinary, principled, and honest woman, and of whom “we are very sure” will give preference to the poorest and most needy of that entity.
In this sense, at a press conference, López Obrador guaranteed his government’s full support for the next governor of the Mexico state.
“Now the State of Mexico, by decision of the people, is going to be governed by the teacher Delfina Gómez, an exceptional, extraordinary woman, with principles, ideals, honest, and we are very sure that development in the State of Mexico will continue. Mexico and that attention will continue to be given to everyone and preference will be given to the poorest, the most needy. And of course, teacher Delfina is going to have our full support,” she said.

The federal President pointed out that Delfina Gómez will take the oath as the entity’s new governor on September 14, and on September 15, both Delfina Gómez and Alfredo del Mazo with him at the inauguration of the first stage of the Train Mexico-Toluca, and which will bear the name “El Insurgente”.
He pointed out that Alfredo del Mazo will lead the Cry for Independence in Toluca, because his mandate ends at 12:00 p.m. on September 15, for which he announced that Delfina Gómez and the head of the Government of Mexico City, Martí Batres, will be as guests at the Shout ceremony in National Palace.
“She is going to take possession on the 14th in the afternoon; On the 15th, in the morning the outgoing and incoming governor, Governor Delfina, Governor Del Mazo are going to accompany me for the inauguration of `Insurgente´ and at night it is the `Grito´. I understand that it is going to be Alfredo del Mazo who is going to give the ‘Shout’, because he ends his mandate until 12:00 at night and we are going to invite the teacher Delfina to accompany us here to the National Palace”.
